Tacos are a quick and easy meal to put together even on your busiest days- so who wouldn't want a healthy alternative that's just as easy?

Before we get into making our Teami tacos, lets talk about the healthy ingredient swaps we made in order to make these actually guilt-free!

If you've ever done any of the diets that focus on low-carb intake, you know that cauliflower is a superfood!! It's not only a super yummy but also an easy ingredient to incorporate into meals in soo many ways. You can eat it as a side, use it for pizza crust, meat alternative, etc! Not to mention, this veggie is boosting with benefits:

  • Fiber: This veggie is a fiber superhero! It's packed with fiber to help your digestion and aid in absorbing vitamins in your body.
  • Digestion: Cauliflower aids in digestion because it is loaded with fiber and water. It helps with maintaining a healthy digestive tract, lowering the risk of digestive issues such as colon cancer.
  • Immune System: Dietary fibers aid in your immune system and inflammation! As a result, it could help decrease the risk of inflammation-related conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity.
  • Memory: Choline is an important "vitamin-like" part of cauliflower that helps with sleep, muscle movement, learning, and memory

We also used fresh vegetables & specific spices which is super important! Of course, you could use seasoning mix or your favorite salsa - but do you know what's actually in them?

In your average store-bought salsa, you can usually find calcium chloride. This is a food additive that helps food taste salty without actually adding any salt. It is very similar to the ‘salt’ we sprinkle on roads and walkways in the winter to melt ice. When ingested in large amounts it can cause intestinal problems and abdominal pain. Not to mention they're loaded with sugar!

You can make your own quick salsa when making these tacos by dicing up tomato, onion, cilantro, and jalapenos. Sprinkle with lime juice and a little oil and toss it evenly! Now that you know all of the amazing benefits, let's get cooking!
