Periods, salty foods and maybe a little over-snacking! All of us experience uncomfortable bloating from time to time and although it can be tempting to reach for an over-the-counter solution, you may want to try one of these tasty natural solutions first!

Cup of yogurt with granola with chia seeds, blueberries and granola

1. Yogurt

Packed with probiotics, which can help reduce painful bloating and improve overall gut health. Try enjoying a small cup of Greek yogurt (which has lower carbs and higher protein) topped with some fresh berries or granola!

A bowl of oatmeal with raspberries, blueberries and milk

2. Oats

Great for your digestion, oats contain a fiber called beta-glucan. Not only can beta-glucan help aid in easing inflammation but it also has a host of other benefits as well that may help with heart health, cholesterol, and immune function. Enjoy a warm and soothing bowl of oatmeal with some manuka honey for additional health benefits!

Green Tea Matcha Latte

3. Green Tea

Feeling too bloated and full to eat anything? Don't worry! A nice hot cup of green tea may help soothe your stomach woes with high amounts of antioxidants to help reduce inflammation in your digestive tract. If the taste of straight green tea isn't for you, we recommend a good matcha powder latte with almond milk, or perhaps a cool and refreshing green tea lemonade.

Banana slices in a bowl with full bananas behind

4. Bananas

Did you know that salt and potassium go hand in hand? Sometimes our bloating is related to having eaten too much salt. Potassium is a mineral that helps to regulate salt in the body and prevent water retention and not only are bananas high in potassium but they are also a great source of fiber to help aid in digestion. A quick banana on-the-go is a great treat to help relieve bloating symptoms!

2 cups of spinach green smoothies with leaves of spinach around

5. Spinach

This deep, leafy green is high in antioxidants to help fight inflammation and improve immune function. It's also a great source of vitamins and minerals like potassium and magnesium which can help reduce gas and bloating. Although the best way to consume spinach is raw, the taste is not always for everyone, so why not blend yourself up a tasty smoothie and include some other bloat-busting ingredients like bananas! If you'd like to pack an even more powerful punch, we formulated our Superfood Greens to be able to include 16 superfood green ingredients, all in one convenient daily scoop.

Avocado slices with a fried egg on toast

6. Avocados

Enjoy some delicious avocado toast and fight bloating? Um...yes please! As we've already mentioned avocados contain potassium which is great for regulating salt in the body and helping to reduce water retention. They're also a great source of fiber and healthy fats! So, why not enjoy some freshly sliced avocado in your salad or lunch?

Bowl of fresh Sweet potato fries

7. Sweet Potato

Not just for Thanksgiving, this yummy vegetable can be enjoyed year round and you may notice it helping to decrease your bloating! That's because sweet potatoes are high in fiber that help the body to better digest to help prevent bloating and constipation. Bake yourself a delicious sweet potato in the oven to enjoy with a slice of butter, add them to your next stew or roast, or chop them up as a delicious side of flavor to your main course. The possibilities are endless!
